Walter Moss is currently the Band Director at Ruston High School in Ruston Louisiana. He is also the Coordinator of Music for the Lincoln Parish School Board.
Mr. Moss attended Louisiana Tech University from 1992 to 1997 where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. He then attended The University of Louisiana at Monroe from 2004 to 2005 where he earned a Master’s Degree, studying with Mr. Derle Long, in Music Conducting.
Mr. Moss studied percussion with Mr. Paul Bissell at Louisiana Tech, Mr. Larry Anderson and Dr. Mel Mobley while attending The University of Louisiana at Monroe.
Mr. Moss is an active clinician and adjudicator throughout North Louisiana, South Arkansas, Mississippi, and East Texas. He has worked with or arranged music for The Louisiana Tech Drumline, The University of Louisiana at Monroe Drumline, The University of Arkansas at Monticello Drumline, and many other high school and middle school percussion programs. His performing percussion ensembles have been featured at the annual Percussive Arts Society Louisiana Day of Percussion, The Lone Star Classic Drumline Competition, and The Plano Drumline Competition. Mr. Moss currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Louisiana Music Educator’s Association as District Director and is the Jazz Band Division Chairman for the Louisiana District One Band Director’s Association.
Mr. Moss is an Educational Endorser for Promark Drumsticks and a Local Educator Endorser Artist for Pearl / Adams Percussion. He is also a member of the professional percussion trio, Three Headed Monster.
Mr. Moss resides in Ruston Louisiana with his wife, Michee and his children, Garrett and Sydney.
